Biography
ANTONIO DI CRISTOFANO completed his piano studies in 1986 at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory of Music in Florence. He specialized under Massimiliano Damerini. He performed as a soloist and in various chamber ensembles. He was a soloist with many Italian symphony and chamber orchestras, the Bucharest Radio Orchestra, Mexican Orchestra „Del Estado”, The University Houston Orchestra, the Albanian Radio and Television Orchestra, the Istanbul Chamber Orchestra, the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, the North Bohemian Philharmonic, the Slovak Philharmonic, the Izmir Symphony Orchestra, the Iași „Moldova” Philharmonic Orchestra, Philarmonique de Montreal, The Symphony Orchestra in Jerusalem, the Symphony Orchestra in Dubrovnik and others. He had given concerts at prestigious festivals and concert stages in Europe, the USA and Canada, Israel, Russia and China. In 2006 and 2007 he made the debut in Carnegie Hall – New York and in Konzerthaus and Golden Hall MusikVerein in Wien. He is often invited as a judge in international piano competitions. He has taught at the Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, at the Shanghai and Seoul Conservatories, at the Summer Academy in Dubrovnik, at the University of Denver, at the Valletta International Festival, at the Thessaloniki Conservatory, and at many universities in the United States. He is a scholarship holder of the Paul Harris Scholarship from the Rotary Club. His repertoire is vast and diverse. He recorded a CD with music by Franz Schubert, and recently a new one with music by Johannes Brahms, Alban Berg and Alexander Scriabin.
