Andrey Naydenov

ANDREY NAYDENOV (Tenor-Altino) was born in the town of Pleven. In 1993 he took part in Stefano Algieri's masterclass and later worked with the famous countertenor Jeffrey Gall. He debuted in Monteverdi's opera Orfeo, staged for the first time in Bulgaria. He was granted a Zurich Opera fellowship by Alexander Pereira. He has appeared as soloist in Orff's Carmina Burana with the Sofia Philharmonic and the Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio, on the stages of the Plovdiv and Sofia Opera Houses. The singer has toured successfully in Germany, Spain - Palau de la Música, Teatro del Liceo, Teatro Real, Italy, Portugal, France, Switzerland - Victoria Hall, Netherlands - Concertgebouw, Austria, Greece, Turkey, Belarus. He has worked with renowned conductors such as Prof. Georgi Robev, Emil Tabakov, Uroš Lajovic, Hans Jürgen Nagel, Gunther Toering, Laurent Hirsch , Milen Nachev, Borislav Ivanov, Mikhail Angelov, Yordan Dafov, Fuat Mansurov, Tsanko Delibozov, Volodymyr Sheiko, Hristo Ignatov, Georgi Chaprazov, Natalia Ponomarchuk, etc. He starred in Shostakovich's opera The Nose, during its first performance in Bulgaria by Ruse Opera House under the baton of Nayden Todorov. Andrey Naydenov's preference for the Bel Canto style is affirmed with the resurrection of Rossini's Messa di Gloria. In his many solo recitals the singer performs unfamiliar works by Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, Mercadante, Puccini, Liszt, Boccherini, Gluck and others. His repertoire also includes many Bulgarian works, including the premiere of the opera Algara by Boyko Bogdanov. He is a sought-after soloist in many opera houses, philharmonic orchestras and festivals in the country and around the world. He has recorded for Bulgarian National Radio and Bulgarian National Television.
