Andrei Korobeinikov

Born in Moscow in 1986, Andrei Korobeinikov graduated from the Moscow Conservatory aged only nineteen with the special distinction of ‘Best Musician of the Decade’ and went on to further study at the Royal College of Music in London with the aid of a G. & J. Simmonds Scholarship. He was a prizewinner at the Scriabin Competition in 2004 and won Second Prize at the Rachmaninoff Piano Competition in Los Angeles in 2005. Today he is the guest of prestigious venues such as the Wigmore Hall in London, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysees in Paris, and appears with leading orchestras including the St Petersburg Philharmonic, the NHK Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestre National de France under the direction of conductors of the calibre of Iván Fischer, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Alain Altinoglu. In parallel with his career as a pianist, he graduated as a lawyer from the European Law University of Moscow at the age of seventeen and has published several legal works, notably in the field of intellectual property law. Over the past few years he has developed a genuine passion for composition, and has performed his own works in several of his recitals. Andrei Korobeinikov made an initial Scriabin CD for Mirare that attracted great attention and was followed by two recordings of Beethoven and Shostakovich respectively. He returned to Scriabin in his most recent disc, devoted to the complete Études.
