Ana Spasovska

ANA SPASOVSKA (1998) was born in Skopje, North Macedonia. She began her violin studies at the age of 9 and continued her education at the Academy of Music in Skopje in the class of Prof. Oleg Kondratenko. She has won many awards both as a solo performer and for chamber music. At the same time she studied conducting at the Academy of Music under Prof. Borjan Canev. Since 2019 she has participated in master classes of Prof. Uroš Lajović in Dubrovnik and Plovdiv. In 2019 she made her conducting debut with the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, followed a few months later by the Plovdiv State Opera. 2021 saw her debut with Jeunesses musicales and the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra. She was invited to conduct at the First Skopje Brass Festival, where she collaborated with the distinguished Hungarian trombonist Gyorgy Gyivicsan. As assistant to Prof. Borjan Canev she conducted at the Ohrid Summer Festival. Ana Spasovska was part of the European Orchestral Performance Program, assisting the British conductor, Timothy Redmond. In September 2022, Ana Spasovska won the first international masterclass and competition at the Hungarian National Symphony Orchestra in Szeged, Hungary where she continues to work as their guest conductor. She is the founder of the Ayga Chamber orchestra in Skopje, with which she conducted concerts with world-renowned pianists Simon Trpčeski and Ivo Pogorelic, as well as violin virtuoso Kirill Troussov. Ana Spasovska was invited to be part of the European Capital of Culture 2023 programme. She was assisting Maestro Gabriel Bebeselea in a co-production of Schönberg’s Gurrelieder with the Banatul Philharmonic - Timisoara, National Opera - Timisoara and Theater Altenburg Gera, Germany. In January 2024 she was invited by Radio France to be assistant conductor in three concerts with the Orchestre National de France and Maestro Cristian Măcelaru in Paris. She was selected by Marin Alsop in the top 10 conductors for the Tacky Alsop Fellowship (TACF) for 2024-2025. Ana Spasovska is one of six selected candidates invited to be a Fellow of the 2024 Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music in Santa Cruz, California.
