Ana Maria Patiño-Osorio

ANA MARIA PATINO-OSORIO is a young conductor from Colombia with an active European career. She began her musical training as a saxophonist, then specialized in conducting. She completed her undergraduate degree in Orchestra Conducting at the Universidad EAFIT in Medellín before being accepted to the prestigious master’s programme of Orchestral Conducting at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste under Johannes Schlaefli, where she graduated with honors in 2021. She studied in the masterclasses of Herbert Bloomsted, Matthias Pintscher, Thomas Adès and Olaris Elt and with Bernard Haitink at the Lucerne Music Festival in Switzerland. Since 2015 she has collaborated and conducted at the Ibero-American Philharmonic Academy - Iberacademy, which offers training, practice and encouragement of initiative in young Latin American talents. She has participated in numerous projects of the orchestra's co-founder and conductor Roberto González-Monjas. She is a winner of the Conducting Fellowship at Dirigentenforum des Deutschen Musikrates Germany in 2019, a finalist of the Solti International Conducting Competition (2020) with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra; Ana is also the recipient of the 2021 National Prize for best Conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogotá and is the winner of the Second Prize, the Audience Prize, and the Youth Jury Prize at the Malko Competition for Young Conductors in Copenhagen in 2024.. Between 2022-2024, she worked as assistant conductor of the Orchestre Romande de Suisse in close collaboration with Jonathan Knott. She successfully stepped in to conduct the OSR featuring violinist Daniel Lozakovich and pianist Mikhail Pletnev as soloists, as reported in the specialised press. In the 2023/2024 season she conducted Iberacademy Orchestra at Mozartwoche in Salzburg, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia, Philharmonic of Bogota, the National Symphony Orchestra of Uruguay (SODRE), the Orquesta Filarmónica de Medellín. She was touring Europe with the Symphony Orchestra of Peru in 2024 featuring Juan Diego Flores at the Auditorio Nacional de Musica in Madrid, Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Wiener Konzerthaus, Victoria Hall in Geneva, and Paris Philharmonie. This season will see continued engagements with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and debuts with the Orchestre National de Bordeaux, Geneva Camerata, Symphony Orchestra “George Enescu” Philharmonic in Bucharest and Symphony Orchestra of Croatian RTV.
