Alexander Popov
Biography
Composer Alexander Popov (1927–2010) graduated from the Prof. Pancho Vadigerov National Academy of Music in 1959. He studied Violin with Professor Petar Hristoskov, Viola with Professor Stefan Sugarev and Composition with Professor Vesselin Stoyanov. From 1948 to 1963, he was member of the orchestra of Sofia Opera. In 1962, he joined the Sofia Soloists Chamber Ensemble. He composed an oratorio, two cantatas , pieces for string orchestra, chamber music, film music, etc. His works were performed in the UK and the Czech Republic.
