Elisabeth Pratscher

Austria-born soprano ELISABETH PRATSCHER began her vocal studies at the University of Music and performing Arts Vienna, where she was a student of Julia Bauer-Huppmann. Currently supervised by Prof. Heidrun Franz-Vetter in Berlin, she has attended masterclasses with Edith Lienbacher, Kurt Widmer, Paul Hamburger and Gerd Uecker. Elisabeth Pratscher has been an award winner on renowned competitions, including the famous Smola Förderpreis 2015, Nico-Dostal Operetta Competition, Competizione dell’ Opera (Linz) and Accademia Belcanto. Following her debut as Papagena at the Opernfestspiele St. Margarethen, one of the biggest European open air festivals for opera, her engagement there was additionally extended for the seasons 2006-2014. Elisabeth Pratscher’s principal roles are Susanna, Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro/Mozart), Papagena (The Magic Flute / Mozart), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel / Humperdinck), Frasquita (Carmen / Bizet), Contessa Ceprano and Paggio (Rigoletto /Verdi), Ännchen (Der Freischütz /Weber), Esmeralda (The Bartered Bride /Smetana), Mi (The Land of Smiles / Lehar), Lisa (Gräfin Mariza / Kalman) and Marika (Frühjahrsparade/ Stolz). An eminent soloist, Pratcher has given performances at renowned venues and prominent events throughout Europe and China’s major music centres, such as the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein, the Haydn Hall at the Esterhazy Palace, Konzerthaus Vienna, Brucknerfestival Linz, Bach-Festival Zurich, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Grandmaster Palace Rhodes (Greece), Opera Malmö and the Shanghai Grand Theatre. The conductors she worked with include the likes of Adam Fischer, Ernst Märzendorfer, Sebastian Weigle and Koen Schoots, and her collaborations with renowned orchestral ensembles are numerous, with Austrian-Hungarian Haydn Philharmonie, Deutsche Radiophilharmonie (SWR), Bruckner Orchester Linz, and Orchester Corso Vienna being just a few of them.
